RG Kar Hospital Ex-Principal Sandip Ghosh, 3 Others Sent To Judicial Custody

Former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, has been sent to judicial custody until September 23 by a special CBI court in connection with a financial irregularities case.

Along with him, his security personnel Afsar Ali, and contractors Biplab Sinha and Suman Hazra, have also been placed in judicial custody until the same date.

Ghosh was arrested by the CBI on September 2, following allegations of financial misconduct, coinciding with protests surrounding the rape and murder of a doctor at the hospital. After his arrest, the court had initially granted the CBI eight days of custody, and the agency indicated that it may seek further custody if necessary.
