A gang of robbers, masquerading as officials from the Enforcement Directorate, carried out a raid on a residence in Delhi’s Baba Haridas Nagar area, making off with over Rs 3 crore, according to the police.
Following the robbers’ departure, the victim made a PCR call. He reported, “Six individuals arrived at my house, claiming to be from the ED department, and they looted Rs 3 crore from my residence. They arrived in two vehicles, all of them armed.”
When the police checked the area, they noticed a car being driven in a dangerous and suspicious manner. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop when asked and continued to drive recklessly. After a 2 km chase, the police successfully intercepted the car near Ramdev Chowk in Narela. Upon searching and frisking the detained individual, the police discovered a pistol with four live cartridges and Rs 70 lakhs in cash in his possession. Further investigation revealed that he was a member of the same gang involved in the robbery in Baba Hari Das Nagar. He was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police team from Baba Haridas Nagar police station.
The local police have established multiple teams to apprehend the remaining suspects, conducting raids at potential hideouts in their pursuit. An FIR has been filed based on the victim’s complaint, the police reported.
