In connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, TV actor Chahatt Khanna today recorded a statement at Patiala House court.

After it was claimed that Chahatt Khanna received pricey gifts from the con man, the TV star broke her silence and claimed that people are making assumptions about the situation without knowing the full facts.

“If people draw conclusions without hearing my side of story, I can’t get bothered by it. They don’t know the reality. They can say or believe anything they want. They have all the right to do so. Right now, my family and I are just laughing reading all the reports,” media quoted her as saying in September.

According to a press report, Chandrashekhar described himself as a producer of the southern film business when he met celebrities Nikki Tamboli of “Big Boss” renown, Chahat Khanna of “Bade Achche Lagte Hai” fame, Sophia Singh, and Arusha Patil on the jail grounds.

A number of Bollywood actresses have been named in the extortion case, including Jacqueline Fernandez, who was granted bail in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh. It is alleged that Jacqueline Fernandez accepted pricey presents from the con man, who was also her lover at the time.
