Actor Rupali Ganguly has recently found herself at the center of controversy after her stepdaughter, Esha Verma (from her husband Ashwin Verma’s 2nd marriage), made serious allegations against her.

While Rupali remained silent initially, her husband Ashwin issued a clarification on social media.

However, following Esha’s video statement on Instagram, Rupali took legal action, sending her a notice seeking Rs. 50 crore in damages.

In support of Rupali, actress Sana commented exclusively to the media, stating, “Her choice to issue a defamation notice reflects her commitment to standing up against falsehoods and protecting her reputation, which she has worked tirelessly to build over the years. No one should have to endure baseless accusations, especially when they are made to harm one’s personal and professional image.”

The legal notice issued by Rupali asserts that Esha’s allegations have severely damaged her public image. It accuses Esha of interfering in a sensitive matter and tarnishing Rupali’s character and personal life. Rupali’s legal team also pointed to remarks made by Esha, including calling Rupali and Ashwin’s son, Rudransh, ‘illegitimate.’

In the notice, Rupali emphasized that she has treated Esha with kindness whenever she visited India. She even claimed to have helped Esha pursue a career in the entertainment industry by offering her guidance and arranging photoshoots and auditions.

Earlier, Esha Verma shared her version of events, claiming that Rupali, who is 20 years younger than her father, was aware that as a married woman with children, she should have kept her distance. Esha recalled incidents where Rupali allegedly harassed her mother, both physically and verbally, when Esha was just a child. She emotionally recounted how she felt scared and threatened, stating, “I had to scream and pick up an object to threaten Rupali.”

Esha further alleged that Rupali screamed at her during a phone call on Father’s Day, warning her of consequences when she visited India. Esha admitted that she felt cornered during a visit from her mother, when she wanted her parents to meet.

The situation has led to heightened tensions between the family members, with legal proceedings now underway to address the serious accusations.
