The official further stated that the police are likely to seek custody of Lawrence Bishnoi, currently detained in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat, and are contemplating invoking the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in the case.

Responsible?

Anmol Bishnoi purportedly claimed responsibility for the firing, and an investigation revealed his involvement, prompting the issuance of the LOC by the Mumbai police, the official added.

“Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi have been identified as wanted accused in the case. Anmol Bishnoi resides in Canada and frequently travels to the USA. However, the IP address linked to the Facebook post, wherein he claimed responsibility for the firing was traced to Portugal,” the official stated.

The alleged shooters, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), both residents of Bihar, have been apprehended along with Sonu Kumar Subhash Chander Bishnoi (37) and Anuj Thapan (32), who provided them with two country-made pistols and cartridges on March 15, according to police reports.

According to police sources, Sonu Bishnoi and Thapan hail from Fazilka, near Lawrence Bishnoi’s hometown in Punjab.

“Both were also accused, along with Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi, in a firing incident registered in Gangapur, Punjab,” the official added.
