Sanatan Dharma Controversy: Complaint filed Against Tamil Nadu CM Stalin’s Son in Bihar

Udayanidhi Stalin

A complaint has been registered against Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

The complaint, filed by Advocate Sudhir Ojha of Lahladpur in the Sadar police station jurisdiction, pertains to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement comparing Sanatan Dharma to diseases like dengue and malaria. It alleges that this statement has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for September 14, 2023.

Earlier, a Supreme Court advocate had filed a complaint with the Delhi Police against Udhayanidhi Stalin, who serves as the Sports Minister of the Tamil Nadu government.

The complainant, Vineet Jindal, claimed that Udhayanidhi Maran, during a speech, made provocative, inflammatory, derogatory, and inciting remarks against Sanatan Dharam. According to the complainant, Udhayanidhi Stalin, speaking at an event, called for a ‘Sanatana Abolition Conference.’ He congratulated the organizers for naming the conference as the “eradication of Santana dharma” instead of “opposing Sanatana Dharma.”

Stalin stated that certain things, like mosquitoes, dengue, corona, and malaria, cannot be opposed but must be eradicated. He likened Sanatana Dharma to these issues and claimed it was opposed to both equality and social justice.

The complainant argued that Stalin’s statement constituted offenses under sections 153A and B, 295A, 298, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, which are cognizable and serious offenses. The complainant requested the filing of an FIR against Stalin under the aforementioned sections.
