A police complaint has been filed against Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film “Pathaan” by Satya Ranjan Bora, a right-wing activist, at the Geetanagar police station on Monday. After the release of the song ‘Besharam Rang,’ ‘Pathaan’ sparked a controversy.

During the film’s promotion on January 5, Bajrang Dal members who are a part of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) caused trouble at the Alpha One Mall in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur. In a video that the VHP posted, protesters could be seen yelling slogans, tearing up posters and big cutouts of the cast of “Pathaan.” The protesters were also caught on video damaging mall property.

The Bajrang Dal members also threatened the mall’s management that if the film is released, they will launch an even more violent protest.

The controversy erupted after Narottam Mishra, the home minister for Madhya Pradesh, voiced his disapproval of one of the film’s songs named “Besharam Rang.”

“At first impression, the song’s costumes seem objectionable.” “It is obvious that the song from the movie “Pathaan” was recorded with a dirty mindset,” Mishra stated in the media.

Pathaan is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Siddharth Anand, and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film’s lead actors are Shahrukh Khan, John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone. It will be released on January 25, 2023, Wednesday.
