“In a communication dated March 4, 2024, Justice V Kameswar Rao, a Delhi High Court Judge, expressed his desire for a transfer to any other High Court. In accordance with his request and in the interest of better administration of justice, the Collegium resolves to recommend his transfer to the High Court of Karnataka,” the resolution stated, which included Justices Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, Surya Kant, and Aniruddha Bose.

Additionally, the collegium proposed the transfer of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva to the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

“By a communication dated March 3, 2024, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, a Delhi High Court Judge, conveyed his willingness to be transferred to any other Court. Complying with his request and in the interest of better administration of justice, the Collegium resolves to recommend that Mr. Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva be transferred to the High Court of Madhya Pradesh,” the resolution affirmed.

If accepted by the Centre, these recommendations will reduce the number of judges in the Delhi High Court to 40. The High Court presently has a sanctioned strength of 60 judges, including 15 additional judges.
