Sexual Assault Case: Malayalam Actor Nivin Pauly Gets Clean Chit

Actor Nivin Pauly has been officially cleared of all charges in a sexual assault case, according to a statement from the Special Investigation Team.

The case was originally filed following a complaint from a woman at the Oonnukal police station in Kerala’s Ernakulam district.

Authorities have submitted a report to the Kothamangalam court requesting that Pauly’s name be removed from the list of accused. The investigation, however, will continue against the other individuals involved. This report was presented to the first-class judicial magistrate court in Kothamangalam.

Investigators determined that Pauly was not present at the location during the times and dates cited in the complaint, which contributed to the decision to clear him of the allegations.

In response to the news, Pauly expressed his gratitude on Instagram, thanking those who supported him throughout the investigation. He wrote, “Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by me. Thank you for all the love, prayers, and support.”

The case against Pauly and five others began in September when a woman accused them of sexual assault and related crimes, claiming the incidents took place in Dubai the previous year. The complainant alleged that the accused had promised her a role in a film.

Charges against the group included multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as 354 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman), 376D (gang rape), 354C (voyeurism), 450 (trespass), 342 (wrongful confinement), 376(2)(n) (repeated rape of the same woman), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

The SIT’s decision to clear Pauly marks a significant development in a case that has attracted considerable media attention. The actor’s proactive stance on social media reflects his relief and appreciation for the support he received during a challenging period.

While Pauly has been exonerated, the investigation continues into the other individuals involved, ensuring that the matter is thoroughly addressed.

This outcome is a reminder of the complexities surrounding allegations of this nature and the importance of a thorough investigation. As the legal process unfolds for the remaining accused, Pauly can focus on his career and the upcoming projects that await him.

The resolution of this case will likely provide him with the opportunity to move forward and re-engage with his fans and the film industry.
