Sunil Kumar Pathak’s Book ‘Legal First Aid’ Released At India International Centre

Legal First Aid

The book ‘Legal First Aid’ by legal expert Sunil Kumar Pathak was launched at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the India International Centre (IIC). Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President of Indian Law Firms and former President of the Bar Association of India, was the chief guest at the book launch event.

During the book discussion, Dr. Bhasin remarked that there are currently 60 million pending cases across the country, and the delay in justice is a significant concern. In such circumstances, people often prefer settlement over litigation to avoid the risks involved in legal battles. But the question arises: Where is justice?

Dr. Pinky Anand, senior advocate of the Supreme Court and former Additional Solicitor General, and Pramod Dubey, senior advocate of the Supreme Court, also participated as guest of honors in the book discussion. Dr. Anand stated that access to courts is limited for the common people, who also lack adequate knowledge about legal processes. A basic understanding of law is essential, and books like this can be immensely helpful in bridging that gap.

Advocate Pramod Dubey emphasized the importance of raising legal issues at the grassroots level. Awareness is crucial, and we must focus on it, as a lack of knowledge often leads people to rush to courts. Therefore, this book meets the needs of the time.

The author, Sunil Kumar Pathak, explained that ‘Legal First Aid’ was written to educate ordinary citizens about their legal rights and procedures. The book serves as a legal guide for individuals, explaining various types of crimes, rights, and legal processes in a simple and practical manner. Topics such as legal rights, provisions related to various crimes, the correct steps to take in any legal situation, police investigation, evidence handling, and court procedures are comprehensively covered in the book.

According to the author, the book is designed like a “First Aid Kit,” empowering citizens to confront legal challenges with confidence and understanding. The book discussion featured a distinguished panel of renowned legal experts and scholars. The event was moderated by Sudhir Mishra, Managing Partner of Trust Legal.
