“Tarak Mehta” Files Complaint Against Show’s Producer For Non-Payment Of Dues

Actor Shailesh Lodha, who played Taarak Mehta in the television sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ (TMKOC), has recently brought his unpaid dues complaint to the court. He quit the show in April, 2022.

Lodha has filed a lawsuit against the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in order to receive his outstanding salary.

He has filed a complaint against TMKOC producer Asit Modi for unpaid dues in March and also sued his production firm.  He then later approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to resolve the matter.

The hearing in this case is scheduled for May.

Lodha refused to comment on the subject, saying, “The matter is subjudice and under court, so I’ll not comment on this.”

Producer Asit Modi also declined to speak.

However, the show’s project manager, Sohil Ramani, stated, “There isn’t much to say that hasn’t already been said. Shailesh Lodha has been nothing short of a family member. We respected his decision to leave. And we’ve asked him to come to the office multiple times by email and phone to sign all necessary documentation and get his remaining numeration. We have never denied or refused to pay him. When employees quit a company, they must sign full and final papers before full money is released. What is the problem? Isn’t it preferable to simply follow the standard procedure instead of going around complaining?”
