UP Police Arrests YouTuber Mohammed Aamir Over Obscene Content

The Uttar Pradesh Police have intensified their crackdown on social media influencers sharing obscene and offensive content.

In the latest action, Moradabad Police arrested YouTuber Mohammed Aamir for allegedly spreading indecent, anti-social, and propaganda-driven material through his channel.

Arrest Of YouTuber Mohammed Aamir

Mohammed Aamir, a resident of the Pakbada area in Moradabad, ran a YouTube channel called TRT. According to police, he was posting content containing vulgar language, offensive impersonations, and inflammatory commentary targeting religious figures. One video, flagged by a concerned social media user, showed Aamir dressed as a saint while using obscene language, sparking outrage online and in the local community.

FIR & Legal Charges

Acting on a formal complaint received at Pakbada Police Station, authorities investigated the content and confirmed that it violated multiple laws. Aamir was booked under:

Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for obscene acts in a public context, and

Section 67 of the Information Technology Act for the electronic transmission of objectionable material.

Police officials confirmed that all videos on the TRT channel are now under review, and further legal action is likely. Investigators are also identifying others who may be involved in the creation or distribution of such content.

Police Statement & Public Reaction

The Moradabad Police shared details of the arrest via their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, confirming the ongoing legal proceedings. The prompt action has received support online, with many users commending the police and calling for stricter enforcement against such content.

A senior police officer stated, “Content that promotes social discord or targets religious sentiments will not be tolerated. We are actively monitoring platforms and will continue to take firm action.”

Aamir’s arrest follows the recent detention of influencer Mehak Pari for similar offenses. The Uttar Pradesh Police have been stepping up surveillance of digital platforms, especially after identifying 40 accounts in Meerut alone involved in circulating obscene or abusive material.

Sensitivity Of The Case

The case has taken on added significance due to its religious undertones. With saints and deities being the target of objectionable remarks, the incident has stirred strong reactions.

The community has demanded that digital spaces be better regulated to prevent such provocative content from spreading unchecked.
