Varanasi District Judge AK Vishwesh will hear a plea on January 23, seeking opening of two locked basements in the Gyanvapi campus and conducting a survey of them.
On the other hand,the Court has fixed December 7 for the hearing of the case seeking simultaneous hearing of six other cases related to Maa Shringar Gauri.
District Government Advocate Mahendra Pandey told that the demand of carbon dating of the alleged Shivling found in the Gyanvapi premises was rejected by the Varanasi district court, regarding which the advocates of the Hindu side had filed a revision petition in the High Court. On which the High Court has fixed the time of January 18, 2023 for hearing. in view of this, the District Judge of Varanasi has fixed the date of January 23 for the next hearing of the matter.
Mahendra Pandey said that the District Judge has fixed the date of December 7 for the hearing of five other cases related to the demand for handing over the possession of Gyanvapi premises to Lord Vishweshwar.
