A woman and her differently-abled partner were arrested on Thursday for allegedly murdering her husband in Ajmer district, Rajasthan.

Husband Found Dead Near Nasirabad

The body of Mastan Cheeta was discovered near Nasirabad on Tuesday. According to the Ajmer Superintendent of Police (SP), the woman, Janta (29), and her partner, Bashir Khan (29), had been in regular contact for over a year. At one point, Janta had eloped with Bashir, but after he filed a missing person report, police tracked them down and returned Janta to her husband.

Conspiracy To Kill Mastan

Investigations revealed that Janta and Bashir had secretly conspired to murder Mastan. Bashir, in need of money, invited Mastan to meet him near Nasirabad Road under the pretext of lending him money. They met on Monday evening and began drinking near an abandoned house.

Murder Details

Once Mastan became intoxicated, Bashir attacked him with a knife, slitting his throat.

While Janta was not physically present at the scene of the crime, she was identified as a key player in planning the murder. The police detained both Janta and Bashir for questioning after gathering evidence that linked them to the crime.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police have indicated that anyone else found to be involved in the murder will also be arrested.
