YS Vivekananda Reddy Murder Case: SC Directs Telangana HC To Assign Bail Plea Of YS Avinash Reddy

The Supreme Court on Tuesday, directed Delhi High Court to place a vacation bench to hear the anticipatory bail application of YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy accused in YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case on May 25.

A vacation bench of justices JK Maheshwari and PS Narasimha directed the Telangana High Court to place the anticipatory bail application of Avinash Reddy before the vacation bench.

Therefore, the apex court clarified that the order will be passed by the vacation bench of the High Court after hearing from all the parties.

Also, the court made it clear that the previous bench that heard the matter would not come in the way of the High Court’s vacation court.

Senior Advocate VV Giri, appeared for the respondent, and apprised the court that the matter was heard for 2 days in High Court and postponed for June 5.

The apex court said that they weren’t happy with HC for not passing the order after the direction of the top court. Also, it directed that remarked how much time it will take to grant anticipatory bail.

Furthermore, the court heard a petition filed by N Suneetha Reddy (daughter of Vivekananda Reddy), challenging the decision of the Telangana High Court.

On April 24, the supreme court set aside a Telangana High Court order granting interim relief from arrest to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

In July 2020, CBI took over the investigation on the orders of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh where the case was registered at Pulivendula Police Station, Kadapa.

Previously, a month before the General elections in 2019, a former MP Vivekananda Reddy, was found dead at his residence in Pulivendula on March 15, 2019.
