Amruta Fadnavis Extortion Case: Mumbai Court Grants Relief To Designer Aniksha Jaisinghani

Amruta Fadnavis Extortion case

A Mumbai court on Monday granted bail to designer Aniksha Jaisinghani, accused in the extortion case registered on complaint of Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
After hearing from counsel for the Mumbai police and Jaisinghani, Sessions Judge DD Almale passed the order.
Bail was granted on the condition that a Rs 50,000 bail bond and surety be provided. Jaisinghani was also ordered to leave her passport with the Court.
The bail application of Jaisinghiani’s father, Anil Jaisnighani, who is also an accused, has yet to be heard.
Amruta Fadnavis filed a complaint against Jaisinghani for allegedly offering a bribe of 1 crore for intervention in a criminal case.
On February 20, the Malabar Hill police station filed a first information report (FIR) against Singhani and his daughter Aniksha Singhani for threatening to make public certain audio and video clips purportedly showing Fadnavis accepting favors from Aniksha.
Jaisinghani has been charged with violating Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 385 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Sections 8 (induce public servant through corrupt means) and 12 (abetment) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
According to the February 20 FIR, Fadnavis claimed that Aniksha, a designer, had been in contact with her for more than 16 months, beginning in 2021.
Fadnavis asserted that he had 16 additional meetings with Aniksha. She allegedly requested Fadnavis wear items created by her at public events, and Fadnavis complied.
She had visited her at the deputy CM’s official home. She allegedly offered to give Fadnavis information on specific bookmakers so they could both make money.
She then made a direct offer of Rs. 1 crore to clear Aniksha’s father in a different police investigation.
Fadnavis claimed that Aniksha was indirectly threatening and blackmailing her by sending her voicemails, voice clips, and messages from unknown phone numbers.
