Life Term, POCSO

A special POCSO court in Arunachal Pradesh has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for sexual assaulting and impregnating his minor stepdaughter.

The court also imposed a 20-year prison term for the same offense, committed against the 13-year-old girl while he was out on bail.

The case dates back to March 23, 2022 when a written complaint was lodged with the Jenging Police Station in Upper Siang by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU). Following the complaint, the Police initiated an investigation and apprehended the accused.

The accused has been found guilty under both the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
