Baba Siddique Murder: Police Custody Of 9 Accused Extended Till Oct 26

A Mumbai court has extended the police custody of nine individuals accused in the murder case of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique until October 26.

Siddique was shot dead on October 12 near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra East.

The 9 accused were brought before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate V.R. Patil at the Esplanade Court after the conclusion of their initial remand. The police requested a three-day extension, but the court granted just one additional day, keeping them in custody until Saturday.

The accused include:

– Gurmail Baljit Singh (23)
– Dharmaraj Kashyap (21)
– Harish Kumar Nisad (26)
– Pravin Lonkar (30)
– Nitin Gautam Sapre (32)
– Sambhaji Kisan Pardhi (44)
– Pradeep Dattu Thombre (37)
– Chetan Dilip Pardhi (27)
– Ram Fulchand Kanoujia (43)

As per police reports indicate that Gurmail Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap, along with wanted suspect Shivkumar Gautam, were identified as the shooters responsible for Siddique’s murder.

Pravin Lonkar, whose brother Shubham is allegedly connected to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is believed to have conspired with others to facilitate the attack, including supplying firearms.

Nisad, a scrap dealer from Pune, allegedly provided financial support for the operation. The other accused include Sapre from Dombivli, while Pardhi, Thombre, and another Pardhi are from Ambernath in Thane district. Kanoujia is from Panvel, Raigad.

The main shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, along with key suspects Shubham Lonkar and Mohammed Zeeshan Akhtar, remains at large. A lookout circular has been issued for these individuals as the investigation progresses.

The court’s decision to extend custody underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to uncover the details of this high-profile case, as authorities work to apprehend the remaining suspects.
