Ballia Court in Uttar Pradesh has sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for the abduction and rape of a minor girl five years ago.
Superintendent of Police S Anand confirmed that Additional Sessions Judge Pratham Kant also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, Pankaj Kumar.
The incident took place on December 10, 2018, in a village in the Rasda area, where the girl was raped. An FIR was registered based on the survivor’s complaint under the relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act.
