The police stated on Monday that a 21-year-old college student succumbed to burn injuries after falling into a vessel of boiling hot rasam in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district.
The victim worked part-time at a catering company. He was serving food to guests at a wedding when he fell into a cauldron of boiling rasam that was to be served to the guests.
The man sustained severe burns and was sent to a city government hospital. However, on April 30, he died without regaining consciousness.
According to police, a case has been filed and an investigation is underway.
