Centre Appoints Bombay HC Justice Dipankar Datta as Supreme Court Judge

The central government on Sunday notified the appointment of Bombay High Court Chief Justice Dipankar Datta as a judge of the Supreme Court. Justice Dutta’s office has informed that he will Take oath tomorrow at 10:130 am.

In the exercise of the power conferred under the Constitution of India, Justice Dipankar Datta has been appointed as Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
I extend my best wishes to him, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Twitter.

On 26th September, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the elevation of Justice Dipankar Datta, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, as Judge of the Supreme Court.

In April 2020 Justice Dipankar Datta was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
