Cheating Case: Kolkata Court Issues Arrest Warrant of Actress Zareen Khan

A Kolkata court has recently issued an arrest warrant against Bollywood actress Zareen Khan in connection with an alleged cheating case.

The case was registered against her in 2018. The investigating officer in the case submitted the charge sheet against the actress before the Sealdah court in Kolkata.

However, Zareen Khan neither appealed for bail, nor appeared before the court. Following her repeated absence, the court issued an arrest warrant.

When asked about the arrest warrant, Zareen Khan stated that she had no clarity on the matter.

She stated, “I’m sure there is no truth to this. I’m surprised too and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR.”

Zareen Khan was scheduled to perform during a Durga Puja function in Kolkata in 2018. However, even as the organisers waited for her arrival, she didn’t show up.

According to the police, one of the organisers filed a written complaint of cheating against the Bollywood actor and her manager. An FIR was registered against both and they were also asked to appear for questioning.

Furthermore, Zareen Khan did show up for questioning back then, and claimed to be misguided by the organizers. She also alleged that she was told by the organizers that heavyweight ministers, including chief minister of Bengal, would attend the function.

However, her team later found out that it was a small-scale event in north Kolkata. She also stated that there was miscommunication over flight tickets and other accommodation, following which she had to skip the show.

Police sources stated, Zareen Khan filed a case against the organisers of the show at a local court. After the investigation, a chargesheet was filed against her and her manager. While her manager appeared before court and sought bail, the actor neither asked for bail nor appeared before the court.
