CJI Lays Foundation Stone For New HC Complex In Jammu

The Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud recently laid the foundation stone of a new high court complex in the Raika area of Jammu.
During his speech, Justice Chandrachud acknowledged the judicial officers as frontline warriors and urged them to fulfill the aspirations of the common people who are seeking justice.

“It is our endeavour that every section of the society, poor or underprivileged, have access to justice. The foundation of the new High Court complex and the newly launched IT initiatives are pioneer steps in bringing reforms in the judicial delivery system,” the CJI remarked.

The Chief Justice of India (CJI) inaugurated a Document Management System (DMS) for the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, as well as a National Service and Tracking of Electronic Process (N-STEP) for the district courts in the two union territories. The event was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu & Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor BD Mishra of Ladakh, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Pankaj Mithal from the Supreme Court, and Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The N-STEP application was demonstrated through a video presentation, and mobile phones equipped with the application were distributed to the process servers to mark the launch of the initiative. Meghwal, who joined the event via video conference, assured the J&K government of full financial support and a sufficient budget for the development of judicial infrastructure.
