Coaching Centre Flooding: Delhi Court Remands Owner to 14-Day Judicial Custody

Delhi’s Court has sent the owner and coordinator of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar to 14-day judicial custody following the death of three civil services aspirants due to flooding in its basement.

Abhishek Gupta, the coaching centre owner, and Deshpal Singh, the coordinator, were produced before a magisterial court, which remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody.

Police have registered an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 105 (culpable homicide), 106(1) (death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide), 115(2) (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 290 (negligent conduct with respect to pulling down, repairing, or constructing buildings).
