Collegium Recommends Elevation Of 5 High Court Judges To Supreme Court

The Supreme Court Collegium on Tuesday recommended the names of five High Court judges for appointment as Supreme Court judges.

The Collegium recommended elevations of three Chief Justices and two judges of the high courts to the Supreme Court.

They are Allahabad HC judge,Justice Manoj Misra,Rajasthan HC Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal, Patna HC Chief Justice Sanjay Karol, Manipur HC Chief Justice PV Sanjay Kumar and Patna HC judge Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah.

The Collegium also recommended elevations of new Chief Justices for three High Courts.

They are Uttarakhand HC judge, Justice Sanjay Mishra, as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Gauhati HC judge, Justice N Kotiswar Singh, as Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court and Kerala HC judge, Justice K Vinod Chandran, as Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court.
