Corruption Case: Mumbai Court Cancels Non-Bailable Warrant against Chhagan Bhujbal

Chhagan Bhujbal

A Mumbai special court has cancelled a non-bailable warrant issued against Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal for failing to appear in a corruption case.

Special judge for MP and MLA cases R N Rokade had issued the warrant against Bhujbal on February 16 after he failed to appear before the court. However, Bhujbal appeared in court during the day and successfully got the warrant cancelled. Bhujbal has been booked in three cases by the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) for alleged irregularities in awarding contracts for construction of Maharashtra Sadan, as well as a land deal in Kalina, and awarding work for the construction of a library during his tenure as state PWD minister. The court is currently hearing discharge pleas of Bhujbal and other accused in the case.
