MAHANT NARENDRA GIRI DEATH CASE: ANAND GIRI’S BAIL PLEA

  • Court to continue hearing on the bail plea of Anand Giri, an accused in the mysterious death case of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) president Mahant Narendra Giri. His body was found hanging from the ceiling fan in Baghambari Gaddi Math in Prayagraj on September 20, 2021.

A purported suicide note recovered from the Mahant had accused his former disciple Anand Giri and two others – Aadya Tiwari and Sandeep Tiwari – of mental torture.

On November 20, the CBI filed a chargesheet in a local court against Anand Giri and the two others booked for abetment of suicide.

MAHARASHTRA POLITICAL FIASCO

  • A Constitution bench of the Supreme Court to hear the two pleas filed by the Eknath Shinde camp of the Shiv Sena challenging the disqualification notices issued against 16 rebel lawmakers who switched sides. The court will also hear the pleas filed by the Uddhav camp challenging the appointment of Eknath Shinde as the Chief Minister of the State.

LIQUORGATE: ED TO PRODUCE EX SAD MLA’s SON

  • ED to produce Punjab-based businessman Gautam Malhotra, the son of former SAD MLA and liquor baron Deep Malhotra at the end of remand period. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its money laundering investigation linked to alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy.
