The Supreme Court will hear on Monday the petitions challenging the delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir. The petition filed by Srinagar-resident Haji Abdul Gani Khan, questions the legality of the delimitation exercise conducted in terms of the notifications issued in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

  • Supreme Court to hear the fresh plea filed by Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) mayoral candidate Shelly Oberoi and others seeking early holding of the mayoral election for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) A bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala took note of the submissions of a lawyer, appearing for the AAP, seeking urgent hearing of the plea.
  • Supreme Court to continue hear plea seeking court-monitored probe into Hindenburg Research report on Adani firms. Advocate Vishal Tiwari, who has filed the petition, mentioned the matter for urgent listing before a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Thursday. He told the bench that a separate plea filed on the issue is scheduled to be listed for hearing on February 10. Tiwari urged the bench that his plea be also heard on Friday along with the separate plea, which the CJI agreed.
  • Supreme Court to continue hearing on the batch of petitions filed against the Centre for not approving the collegium’s recommendations within the deadline laid down by the top court. The court will be hearing a batch of petitions seeking direction to the Centre to notify appointment of those whose candidature for judgeship has been reiterated by the collegium.
  • The Delhi Court to hear the fresh plea by Delhi Police challenging the trial court order that had discharged Sharjeel Imam, Safoora Zargar, Asif Iqbal Tanha and eight others in the 2019 Jamia violence case. The plea stated that “the trial court not only discharged the respondents but also swayed by emotional and sentimental feelings, it cast aspersions on the prosecuting agency and passed gravely prejudicial and adverse remarks against the prosecuting agency and the investigation
  • The Delhi High Court to hear arguements on the bail plea filed by Delhi Jailed Minister Satyender Jain and 2 others in a money laundering case
  • The Delhi High Court to hear the fresh bail plea filed by Amit Arora, director of Buddy Retail Pvt Limited, arrested in connection with a money laundering probe in the excise policy probe.
  • The Delhi Court continue to hear CBI and ED application seeking early hearing on appeals against the acquittal of former telecom minister A Raja and others in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case.
