Court at a Glance: Jallikattu, GN Saibaba, Amrapali, SIMI and Rampur By polls will be Argued

 

Important Matters like Jallikattu, Prof GN Saibaba, Amrapali, Rampur By Poll violence and Challenging Simi Ban are listed before courts on December 8. See Details;

*The Supreme Court will hear on Thursday Maharashtra government plea challenging Bombay High Court order discharging the former Delhi University professor Prof GN Saibaba in an alleged ‘Maoist link’ case.

*The Supreme Court to hear a batch of petitions seeking to strike down a Tamil Nadu law which protects Jallikattu by claiming that the bull-taming sport is a cultural heritage of the State and is protected under Article 29 (1) of the Constitution

* The Supreme court will hear a Plea alleging that police have stopped thousands of voters from exercising their right to cast their vote in Rampur by polls.

*The Supreme court will hear matter related to Amrapali group projects. Earlier Attorney General R Venkataramani, the court receiver for the Amrapali group projects, told the Supreme Court that he is facing resistance from Noida and Greater Noida authorities in generating funds for the stalled projects and, if the situation remains so, the management of the company should be handed over to the Uttar Pradesh government.

*The Supreme court will hear a plea related to review of the ban on Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) for terror activities.
