Dacoity-cum-Murder Case: Delhi Court Sentences Five Accused to Life Imprisonment

A Delhi Court has sentenced five accused individuals to life imprisonment in a 2011 case involving dacoity and murder.

Additional Sessions Judge Manisha Khurana Kakkar presided over the case of Jitender Badhana, Ravi, Mohammed Ifrahim, Yusuf, and Bobby, who were convicted in December 2023. The proceedings against Vikas alias Boga were abated in January 2023 after his death during the trial.

Public prosecutor Paryag Dutt Pandey represented the state during the hearings.

As per the prosecution, the accused attacked Parmanand on November 5, 2011, causing him grievous injuries with the intent to commit dacoity. Parmanand succumbed to his injuries in the hospital the following month.

“The court found the convicts guilty of committing dacoity and murdering Parmanand, resulting in not only the loss of his companionship but also his family’s income,” the order stated.

The court sentenced Jitender and Bobby to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each. The remaining convicts were fined Rs 10,000 each.

“Failure to pay the fine will lead to an additional six months of simple imprisonment,” the court added.

The case was registered against the six accused at Mehrauli police station.
