In a significant legal development, a Delhi court has mandated that Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit furnish documentary evidence related to his defamation suit against Aam Aadmi Party leaders Atishi and Sanjay Singh.

Presiding over the matter, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Paras Dalal ordered Dikshit to provide the respondents with a copy of the pen drive containing the contested statements.

Defamation Allegations & Political Accusations

Dikshit’s legal action stems from remarks made by Atishi and AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh during a press conference on December 26 of the previous year.

The complaint asserts that the AAP leaders alleged Dikshit had received substantial financial sums from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and further accused the Congress of clandestine political coordination with the BJP to undermine AAP’s electoral prospects.

Judicial Scrutiny & Procedural Developments

The court’s directive underscores the necessity for transparency in the evidentiary process. Dikshit is required to furnish all pertinent documents and digital evidence to the accused parties.

The defamation suit remains under active judicial review, with subsequent proceedings expected to assess the veracity of the allegations and determine the legal ramifications thereof.
