Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court on Monday extended the judicial custody of AAP leader Manish Sisodia until July 26 in connection with a corruption case related to the alleged excise scam.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja issued the order after Sisodia was presented before the court at the end of his previous judicial custody.
On April 30, the court had dismissed Sisodia’s bail pleas in the corruption and related money laundering cases filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), respectively, in the alleged scam.
Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023, for alleged involvement in the liquor policy case. On March 9, 2023, the ED arrested him in connection with the money laundering case based on the CBI FIR.
He resigned from the Delhi Cabinet on February 28, 2023.
