Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday reserved its order on CBI’s plea seeking 14-day judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy case.
The CBI produced Arvind Kejriwal following the expiration of his three-day custodial interrogation.
Special Judge Sunena Sharma reserved her order on the plea seeking incarceration for the AAP leader.
The AAP convenor was granted bail by a trial court on June 21 in the alleged excise policy case. However, a few days later, on June 25, the Delhi High Court stayed the bail order.
Three days back, Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI in the liquor policy case.
Initially, he was apprehended on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy to exploit loopholes in the policy to benefit specific liquor vendors. It is alleged that kickbacks from this arrangement were used by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for their electoral activities in Goa.
