Delhi Court Seeks Explanation for Failure to Execute Notices in Ex-MLA Raju Singh Farmhouse Case

A Delhi Court has sought an explanation from the responsible official regarding the failure to execute notices issued to three Delhi police personnel in a case related to a celebratory firing incident during a New Year’s Eve party at the former Bihar MLA Raju Singh’s farmhouse. The incident resulted in the tragic death of a woman.

Special Judge Vikas Dhull issued fresh summons to Inspectors Shailendra Singh and C L Meena, as well as Sub-Inspector Manjeet Kumar. They are directed to appear before the court on October 7.

The judge stated, “Issue notice to Incharge, VB (Vigilance Bureau), to appear in person on the next date of hearing and explain as to why summons sent to Inspector Shailendra Singh, IO/Inspector CL Meena, and Sub-Inspector Manjeet Kumar for today were not executed.”

The judge also noted that the notice sent earlier was not received back.

Meanwhile, the court has adjourned arguments regarding whether to frame charges against the accused to the next hearing date, following a request for more time from the public prosecutor.

During the previous hearing, defense advocate Nitesh Rana had informed the court that the prosecution lacked sufficient evidence to proceed with the case.

The accused individuals, Raju Singh, his wife Renu Singh and his helper Raminder Singh were initially charged under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. Subsequently, the police added Section 302 (murder) of the IPC, which carries a maximum penalty of the death sentence, to the FIR after the victim succumbed to gunshot injuries.
