Delhi’s Patiala House court will hear on Wednesday the anticipatory bail plea of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) probationer Puja Khedkar, who is accused of cheating and forgery.
Additional Sessions Judge Devender Kumar Jangala, who was scheduled to hear the matter on Tuesday, adjourned the hearing after the public prosecutor (PP) sought additional time. The PP informed the court that a new public prosecutor has been appointed, who will present arguments in the case.
Judge Jangala stated that the matter will be heard at 10 AM tomorrow.
Khedkar has been booked by the Delhi Police for allegedly falsifying her identity. The police filed the first information report (FIR) against Khedkar following a complaint by the UPSC, which also issued her a show cause notice. Khedkar is accused of misusing quotas under Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities to clear the UPSC exams.
Khedkar’s father, Dilip Khedkar, a former Maharashtra government officer, is currently facing a corruption case and has been suspended twice in the past over related charges, including extortion. Her mother, Manorama Khedkar, a sarpanch, is also in trouble after a video surfaced showing her brandishing a gun and threatening a group of people.
