The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Friday that it has obtained sanction to prosecute Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak in a corruption case related to the alleged excise scam.
This submission was made before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, who has scheduled the matter for hearing on August 27. Kejriwal’s judicial custody in the case is set to end on August 27.
On August 12, the court had granted the CBI 15 days to secure the necessary sanctions to prosecute the AAP convenor and Pathak. The CBI had previously obtained the sanctions to investigate them in the case.
