In a startling disclosure by the Enforcement Directorate, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested in connection with an excise scam case, is reportedly consuming sugary foods such as mangoes and sweets on a daily basis, despite being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
The central probe agency made this claim before the Rouse Avenue Court, asserting that Kejriwal’s dietary choices are aimed at establishing grounds for medical bail.
Special judge for CBI and ED cases, Kaveri Baweja, instructed the authorities at Tihar jail to submit a report detailing Kejriwal’s diet chart.
The Delhi CM has sought permission from the court to consult his regular doctor via video conference due to fluctuating sugar levels.
The judge directed the concerned authorities to submit the report by the following day, indicating that the court would revisit the matter then.
The ED emphasized to the court, “Arvind Kejriwal is consuming foods high in sugar content despite being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He is consuming ‘aloo poori’, mangoes, and sweets daily, allegedly in an effort to strengthen his case for medical bail.”
