Excise Policy Case: Delhi Court Takes Cognisance Of Chargesheet Against Kejriwal

Excise Policy Case

A Delhi court on Tuesday acknowledged a chargesheet filed against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak, and others in connection with an alleged excise scam.

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja determined that there was sufficient evidence to proceed against Kejriwal and the other accused.

The judge issued a production warrant for Kejriwal and summoned Pathak to appear in court on September 11. The Central Bureau of Investigation had previously filed a supplementary chargesheet naming Kejriwal, Pathak, Vinod Chauhan, Ashish Mathur, and Sarath Reddy as accused.

Last month, the CBI informed the court that it had obtained the necessary approvals to prosecute Kejriwal and Pathak. The agency had earlier secured sanctions to investigate them in this case.
