The body of a female advocate, Mohini Tomar, was found floating in a canal in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. Tomar had been missing since around 2:30 PM on September 3, from the gate of the Kotwali Sadar district court. Her face was severely mutilated to hide her identity.

Police were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene. They recovered Tomar’s body from the canal and have sent it for a postmortem, which will be recorded on video by a panel of doctors.
