Firing Case: Delhi Court Orders Release of Gangster Deepak Boxer

Deepak Boxer

A Delhi Court has ordered the release of the notorious gangster Deepak ‘Boxer’ in a criminal case. The Delhi Police apprehended the gangster in Mexico and brought him back to India in April of the previous year.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sonam Gupta presided over the hearing on the application filed by the concerned Investigating Officer seeking the release of Deepak Pahar, also known as ‘Boxer,’ in connection with an FIR registered at the Punjabi Bagh Police Station. The city police’s crime branch is handling the investigation of the case.

”The accused was arrested on the basis of a disclosure statement,” noted the court in an order issued on Tuesday. ”Since it is submitted by the investigating officer (IO) that there is no recovery affected from the accused and there is only a disclosure statement of the accused which has no evidentiary value in the eyes of the law, therefore, in the absence of any incriminating evidence against the accused, he is hereby released from the present case,” the court stated.

Despite being granted bail, Deepak will remain in custody as he faces charges in other criminal cases. Following his return to the national capital in what was termed the force’s inaugural overseas operation, the police revealed that Deepak admitted involvement in more than two dozen cases, including murder, attempted murder, and extortions.

Police sources indicated that Deepak assumed leadership of the Gogi gang after the murder of gangster Jitender Gogi in the Rohini court complex in 2021.
