An MP-MLA court has denied the anticipatory bail plea of former MP Kadir Rana and his brother-in-law Yusuf in connection with a case involving alleged obstruction of a GST team’s duties during a raid at a factory.

Special Judge Gopal Upadhyaya ruled that there were no grounds to grant the anticipatory bail.

The prosecution stated that the police had filed charges against around 300 individuals under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly vandalizing a GST officer’s car and obstructing the official duties of a GST team on December 5.

The incident occurred when a GST team, led by Deputy Director Sharea Gupta, arrived at the Rana Steel Factory for an inspection. The situation escalated when a crowd reportedly began throwing stones at the officers’ vehicle, damaging it and hindering the GST team’s operations.

In connection with the case, four individuals were arrested, including 2 of former MP Rana’s daughters, Sadia and Sariya Rana, as well as his nephew Saddam Rana.

SP City Satyanarain Prajapati confirmed the details, stating that the police intervened to restore order at the scene. A case has been filed against the 300 people involved, under various sections of the Criminal Law Amendment Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
