The Gwalior High Court double bench on Monday has stayed the order passed by single judge of court against Ashok Nagar MLA Jajpal Singh Jajji. The crisis of the end of the legislature of Jajpal Singh Jajji has been averted for the time being.
A single bench of the High Court had canceled the caste certificate of Scheduled Caste MLA Jajpal Singh Jajji last week while giving its verdict on the petition of Ladduram Kori, as well as ordered the Superintendent of Police of Ashoknagar to file an FIR against Jajji.
In the 2018 assembly elections, Jajpal Singh Jajji won the election from Ashoknagar assembly. After the result of 2018, Ashoknagar’s defeated candidate Ladduram Kori had told the caste certificate of Jajpal Singh Jajji wrong and approached the court. Laddu Ram Kori filed a petition against the caste certificate in the High Court and also filed an election petition. In it, it was argued that Jajji cannot be given reservation in Madhya Pradesh as he is basically a resident of Punjab.
