Hate Speech: Delhi Police Filed Affidavit in SC, Investigation is Being Done without Any Bias

The Delhi Police has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in the case of Hate Speech in (Dharam Sansad was held in December 2021). The Delhi Police has claimed that the investigation in the matter is being done fairly and without any bias.

The Delhi Police has said in an affidavit that in this case Delhi BJP spokesperson, chief editor of a private channel, members of Hindu Vahini and other leaders have been investigated. The voice sample of the editor-in-chief of the channel will be recorded on coming March 17. In March, the forensic science lab will examine the private channel editor’s voice sample by matching it with the YouTube video.

It has been said in the affidavit that Delhi BJP spokesperson Vikram Bidhuri and the editor-in-chief of the private channel have been questioned on November 1, 2022. It has also said that the alleged hate speech video has been examined and its transcript has also been prepared.
In the last hearing, the Supreme Court had asked the Delhi Police, why do you need five months to file an FIR? How many arrests have been made?

The Supreme Court reprimanded the Delhi Police, saying that there was no visible progress in the investigation. The Delhi Police’s investigating officer was asked to file an affidavit and file a status report in two weeks.
