YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra
The Hisar District Court in Haryana has remanded YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra to 4 days police custody, following allegations of sharing sensitive information with a Pakistani citizen.
Malhotra’s arrest has sparked a multi-agency investigation.
According to the officials, Malhotra allegedly maintained ties with Pakistani nationals and YouTube influencers. She reportedly visited Pakistan twice and met a Pakistani officer, Ahsan-ur-Rahim, in Delhi. The investigation aims to establish possible linkages between Malhotra and her alleged handlers.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) CID Crime Branch, Sarthak Sarangi, confirmed that facts are being verified. “We are in touch with our counterparts in Haryana regarding Jyoti Malhotra,” he said. Superintendent of Police (SP) Hisar, Shashank Kumar Sawan, added that Malhotra’s activities are being scrutinized.
Malhotra’s father, Haris Malhotra, demanded the return of phones seized by the police. “My daughter made YouTube videos and visited Pakistan,” he said.
Ongoing Probe
The investigation is ongoing, with multiple agencies working together to uncover the extent of Malhotra’s alleged activities.
The police are working to determine the nature of her relationships with Pakistani nationals and the potential implications of her actions.
