Hyderabad Court Sentences Life Imprisonment To Priest Who Killed Lover, Sealed Body In Septic Tank

Hyderabad Court

A Hyderabad court has sentenced Venkata Sai Surya Krishna, a priest, to life imprisonment for the murder of a woman with whom he had an extramarital affair.

In addition to the life sentence, the court also awarded him an additional seven years of imprisonment for tampering with evidence related to the case.

Details Of The Crime

Sai Krishna, who was already married, had been involved in a romantic relationship with a woman named Apsara. The two had been seeing each other for some time, with Sai Krishna making false promises of marriage to her. However, as Apsara began pressuring him to fulfill his promises and marry her, Krishna decided to eliminate her.

On the night of June 3, 2023, Krishna convinced Apsara that they were going on a trip to Coimbatore. They had dinner at Rallaguda, and later visited a gaushala in Sultanpally. However, in the early hours of June 4, 2023, Krishna took Apsara to a secluded area in Narkhoda village near Shamshabad. There, he bludgeoned her to death with a stone.

Efforts To Conceal Crime

After committing the murder, Krishna transported Apsara’s body to Saroor Nagar, where he stuffed it into a drainage manhole near the SRO office. He then sealed the manhole with cement and filed a missing person complaint in an attempt to divert attention from his crime.

Sai Krishna continued his daily routine in the following days, hoping to evade suspicion. However, as police investigated the missing person case, they uncovered critical evidence that pointed to the murder.

Investigation & Arrest

The investigation revealed that Krishna had even searched online for information on how to commit the murder and dispose of the body. This led authorities to arrest him shortly after the crime was uncovered.

During the trial, the court found clear evidence of premeditated murder and deliberate efforts to destroy evidence. Based on these findings, the court delivered its verdict on Wednesday, sentencing Sai Krishna to life imprisonment for the murder and an additional seven years for tampering with evidence.

This case highlights the tragic consequences of deceit and manipulation, leading to a horrific crime. The court’s decision reflects the severity of the crime and the efforts to conceal it.
