A fast-track court in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir has sentenced a man to four years of rigorous imprisonment for attempting to rape a six-year-old girl.
Parvez Iqbal, Additional Sessions Judge at the fast-track court in Kulgam, found Sajad Ahmad Bhat guilty of attempting to rape the minor in his neighborhood in 2012.
Additionally, the court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Bhat. Failure to pay the fine will result in a further imprisonment of six months for the accused.
