Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra Appointed As Chief Justice of Jharkhand HC

The Central government on Friday notified the appointment of Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra as Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.

Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra  joined the district judiciary in Odisha as a Additional District & Sessions Judge in 1999.

Before being appointed as a judge of the High Court in 2009, he had held the positions of Special CBI judge and Registrar General of the Orissa High Court.

He was transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court in 2021, where he briefly served as Acting Chief Judge.

In December 2022, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Mishra for appointment as Chief Justice of the High Court.

The Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju confirmed the appointment on Twitter, congratulating the newly appointed Chief Justice.
