The Kaushambi Court in Uttar Pradesh has handed down a life imprisonment sentence to a woman and her lover for the murder of her husband in May 2020.
Additionally, the court has imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on each of the convicted individuals, namely Sunita Devi and Shri Chand Patel, as stated by the additional district government counsel, Anirudh Mishra.
According to the prosecution, the victim, Ramchandra Patel, a resident of Chouradih village in Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh, was smothered to death with a pillow while he was sleeping at his residence.
The case was registered at Charva police station on May 18, 2020, following a complaint lodged by his wife. Subsequent investigation revealed that Sunita Devi and her lover conspired to kill her husband, enabling them to be together.
