Kaushambi Court Sentences 4 Accused to 20 Years Imprisonment for Raping Minor

The Kaushambi POCSO court in Uttar Pradesh has convicted four individuals, including a woman, in connection with a 2018 gang-rape case involving a minor Dalit girl.

The court sentenced all the convict individuals to a 20-year imprisonment.

Special Judge (POCSO Court) Utkarsh Yadav also imposed a fined of 30,000 on each of the accused.

In April 2018, a 15-year-old Dalit girl was enticed to a secluded location by Savita Prajapati, who subsequently summoned three men to commit the rape, according to the police.

Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, the Additional District Government Counsel, stated, “The Special Judge (POCSO Act), Utkarsh Yadav, has found Savita Prajapati (45), Bhaiyyan (25), Gorelal (28), and Bablu (26) guilty and has decreed a 20-year imprisonment term for each offender. Additionally, a fine of Rs 30,000 has been levied on each convict.”
