Kendrapara POCSO Court in Odisha has sentenced a 63-year-old man to 20-years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl in a village.
Special court in Kendrapara also levied a fine of Rs 3,000 on the convict.
Failure to pay the fine would result in an additional six months of imprisonment.
POCSO judge Pranati Pattanaik pronounced the verdict, convicting Prahallad Behera of raping the 10-year-old girl.
Behera faced charges under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the IPC.
